September, 9th 2000, I was taking
photos in the warehouse where I was a web designer and Vice President of
sales. I was taking photos of Ancestor Paintings from China, each painting
weighs at least 75 pounds and they are approximately 5 ft by 3ft. The
Ancestor Paintings were stacked against the wall in a pile of about 15; I
was holding the pile while my helper got one out of the middle. I am petite
and weigh about 115 pounds, I was unable to hold the pile and I was thrown
backwards with about 5 or 6 paintings landing on top of me. I hit the
cement floor and herniated some discs in my neck and my lower back.
I have had headaches, pain, anxiety, insomnia and depression since that
time. My life as I knew it was over I have always been extremely
active dancing, weight training, driving my cute little BMW with a stick
shift and my career as a web designer was over as I can’t sit at a computer
for any length of time.
I was told by my doctors that I should stop everything, driving, dancing,
weight training and to turn off my computer. Always in pain, saddened
by the thought of my active life being over depression set in, anxiety and
insomnia became a regular part of my life.
My Osteopath Dr. William Heller sent me to The Central Coast Pain Clinic in
Monterey California. There I underwent many different procedures, Epidurals,
trigger point injections, Prolotheraphy and was introduced to both styles of
Alpha-Stims; the SCS and 100. For many months I would go to see Dr. Victor
Li and sit in one of his office with both Alpha-Stim machines on my ears and
on my neck. Gradually my pain and depression lessened, so much so Dr. Li
wrote a prescription for an Alpha-Stim, and it was submitted to Workman’s
Comp. After over a year of requesting an Alpha-Stim, and due to a
persistent medical technician at Dr. Li’s office, I finally received my
personal Alpha-Stim SCS.
I use my Alpha-Stim SCS every morning and evening, my headaches are less
frequent, I am less depressed, my pain is lessening and my insomnia is
diminishing. I am thrilled with my progress and have hopes of returning to
my active lifestyle thanks to the help of my Alpha-Stim SCS.
