I have been using the Alpha-Stim 100
for the past year with excellent results. I have been very happy with your
product.
As you know, I have severe fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder that
affects most of my body, and also negatively affects my ability to sleep. I
also have problems from TMJ which affects my ability to chew my food and
contributes to my migraine headaches. The Alpha-Stim unit has been helpful
because it is a non-invasive, non-addictive way to decrease my pain. Since I
have begun using the unit I have been able to decrease my use of narcotic
pain medication from needing to use it on a regular basis just to be able to
eat my food, as my jaw spasms and causes me terrible pain to only having to
take the medication on an occasional basis (once or twice a month). It has
also helped to decrease my pain in my entire body.
By using the cranial electrodes on a regular basis I have been able to
increase my sleep from 2-4 hours per night to 4-7 hours per night. And I
have been able to decrease my use of sleeping medication! And I really like
that there are no side effects to the treatment, unlike taking sleeping
pills.
Since my level of pain has decreased and the quantity and quality of my
sleep has increased, my level of activity, while still limited, is greater
than before. I am able to complete tasks like doing laundry, cleaning my
apartment, and cooking meals which I wasn't able to do before because of my
level of pain and fatigue. My need to see the doctor as frequently has
decreased, my level of nutrition has increased since I can now actually eat
entire meals, and my progress in physical therapy has increased several
fold, which is great since I only receive 12 per year from DSHS.
Because of all this, I am much less depressed. It's nice to have some sense
of control over my life again. While I am still disabled, at least life is
now much more tolerable and I now look forward to waking up in the morning.
